Hi, I’m Simon Carter. I grew up in the exciting city of Liverpool, the home of the Beatles, and today I live a bit further south, in Birmingham, the home of Black Sabbath.
My work in the world of casinos and slots began by chance during my university years. I was volunteering for the student newspaper and was sent to report on a new casino that had opened locally. I absolutely loved the exciting atmosphere and was captivated by the games. Inspired by my casino experience, while at university, I managed to land a part-time job writing content for an online gaming website. After graduating, I spent several years working for various gaming magazines and websites, reviewing new slot releases, casino promotions, and writing strategy guides. My primary goal has always been to make complex gaming concepts accessible, particularly for newcomers. I aim to bring clarity and humour to my articles, whether discussing progressive jackpots, bonus rounds, or responsible gambling strategies.
I still enjoy visiting my local casinos and also take great joy in exploring the latest online casinos to go live. At the same time, I firmly believe in responsible gaming and I work hard to always promote safe gambling behaviours. In my writing, I aim to provide fresh insights while keeping my advice practical and grounded.
When not immersed in the world of slots, my downtime usually involves playing football in the park with my son or exploring Birmingham’s bustling music scene. As you can probably tell, music is another big part of my life. I have an eclectic playlist ranging from classic Beatles tunes (no surprise, given my Liverpool roots) to heavier rock legends like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, and my wife and I still attend as many gigs as possible.
I’m also an avid reader and I especially enjoy thrillers and mysteries as they can be almost as exciting as a spin of a slot machine or a hand of blackjack.
