Grantham Replaces Buzz Bingo with Drag Bingo

While the Buzz Bingo club in Grantham permanently closed its doors not long ago, those who live near the picturesque market town still have plenty of opportunities to play, especially if they are fans of drag bingo, which has become hugely popular across the UK.

Drag bingo delights players with its unique blend of comedy, entertainment, and fabulous prizes. For evidence, just look at the drag bingo event held recently at the Royal Queen pub in Grantham on Thursday, April 17. Organised by landlord Sarah Rudkin, the Drag Bingo Night featured three popular drag artists from the Trent Sisters, Palma Violet, Lushies Lips, and Foxi Cummings. Tickets for the event cost just £10 and players were welcomed with a glass of bubbly prosecco, which set the mood for an exhilarating night.

Live Music, Insult Comedy and Bingo Prizes

The evening ran from 7 pm until midnight and entertained attendees with an impressive mix of live singing, hilarious lip-sync performances, insult comedy, and, of course, thrilling rounds of bingo. Participants enjoyed adult-themed games and a raffle, while the atmosphere was lively and laughter-filled throughout. Also present was local food vendor Nathan’s Kitchen, offering tasty treats to keep players well-fed throughout the show.

Sarah Rudkin has spoken of her aim of organising a series of events that provided Grantham residents with something “different”:

“Our events are hopefully something people don’t have access to all the time in Grantham without having to drive, pick a designated driver, etc. We’re open to trying new things that people want us to put on.”

Following the huge success of the evening, The Royal Queen announced a second drag bingo event. Scheduled for Friday, May 31, this follow-up Drag Bingo Night promises to be just as enjoyable as the first. Tickets remain priced at £10 and once again include a complimentary prosecco or cocktail. Impressively, proceeds from the night will be donated to the charity Young Lives vs Cancer.

Set to kick off at 7:30 pm, the second Royal Queen Drag Night once again promises live singing, lip-syncing battles, insult comedy, adult games, disco dancing, and exciting raffles. With the tagline “not for the easily offended or faint-hearted”, attendees are assured a night full of risqué humour and top-class entertainment.

Drag Bingo Comes to the Guildhall

Grantham’s drag bingo scene doesn’t end there. On Friday, June 6, the Guildhall Arts Centre Ballroom will host the Drag Bingo Evolution, an upscale, glamorous evening headlined by the sensational drag queens, Miss 24 Carrot and Lashauna Lust. Touted as the “UK’s most outrageous drag bingo extravaganza”, the event promises both a grand atmosphere and lavish prizes.

Tickets for Drag Bingo Evolution are £20.50, with doors opening at 6:30 pm and the game starting at 7:30 pm. The event will feature five rounds of hilarious bingo, massive musical performances, flamboyant costumes, and a variety of incredible prizes, including a £100 cash jackpot, an Amazon Alexa, wireless headphones, and even a tongue-in-cheek romantic date with a Leonardo DiCaprio cardboard cutout.

Players can look forward to an energetic evening filled with cheeky banter, glamorous costume displays, and plenty of laughs.

Given the popularity of these events, they are unlikely to be the last drag bingo nights held in Grantham. Furthermore, the Royal Queen pub holds regular bingo nights every week or so, so there is always plenty of opportunity to play. While the closure of the Buzz club will have been a huge disappointment to many, at least there are numerous other options for bingo players in Grantham. When there are no special events taking place, it is always possible to fall back on our recommended sites.
