The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, claimed the top prize at the Kingsgate, Queensway venue, where they have been playing for more than 39 years.
Despite playing regularly for close to four decades, the win reportedly came as a complete shock. The player at first assumed they’d scored an ordinary win, only to be informed by staff that they had in fact hit the £10,000 bingo jackpot at Crawley venue.
A dedicated bingo fan, the winner says the money will be shared with family, and a portion is already earmarked for some much-needed renovations at home and some new appliances such as a Ninja air fryer, a coordinated kettle and toaster set, and a new mattress. The £10,000 prize was won during the Party Time Special, which is played during both the afternoon and evening Main Event sessions. The game costs just £1 per ticket, and anyone who calls a full house in 40 numbers or fewer wins the jackpot outright.
