If you’re a bingo fan in Dorset and you’re looking for a lively and unpredictable night out, then there is good news as Bongo’s Bingo is coming to the O2 Academy Bournemouth with a 90s vs 00s special event. Taking place on Friday 10 April, the show promises to blend two unforgettable decades into one high-energy evening of music, nostalgia and bingo fun.

Hosted by Bongo’s Bingo, the Bournemouth bingo event is described as a head-to-head clash between the 1990s and the Noughties. It is advertised as “a distillation of Bongo’s Bingo, boiled down to its chaotic core”, which gives a fair idea of what you can expect. The concept behind one of the most anticipated bingo events is simple: two eras, two soundtracks, and one gloriously over-the-top game of bingo.

Britpop vs Gadgets

For many, the 1990s were an iconic decade, complete with Britpop, girl power and the kind of anthems that still fill dance floors today. It was the decade that brought bands such as the Spice Girls and TV series including Friends and The X-Files. The 00s, however, were not short on memorable moments. From cult films such as Donnie Darko and Shaun of the Dead to the creation of gadgets such as the iPod and PlayStation 2.

On the night, the two decades will go head-to-head through music, themed prizes and plenty of rivalry. This means that you can expect to take part in sing-alongs, hear familiar club classics and enjoy a range of guilty pleasures, while playing bingo rounds delivered in Bongo’s trademark style, complete with confetti, giveaways and spontaneous dance breaks.

Fancy dress is very much encouraged with double denim, shell suits and bucket hats representing the 90s, and velour tracksuits, trucker caps and low-rise fashion the 00s.
