Following a year-long fundraising partnership with St Michael’s Hospice, Deluxe Bingo Hastings has raised £10,000 for the charity.

Godden Gaming managing director Jeremy Godden officially presented the money to Hastings and Rother MP Helena Dollimore, who accepted the cheque on behalf of St Michael’s Hospice.

Speaking at the time, Godden said:

“We’re really proud to be celebrating one year since reopening the Deluxe, and raising £10,000 for St Michael’s Hospice makes it even more special. The support from our customers and team has been brilliant, and paying out more than £1 million in winnings over the past year shows how much people are enjoying coming here.”

Deluxe Bingo Hastings reopened in June last year and celebrated its first anniversary. The venue has been adding £100 to the fundraising total every time a player calls full house on the number 90. The campaign has now reached the £10,000 mark, which will provide the hospice with a welcome boost as it works to support people across Hastings and Rother.

£100 Donated for Every Full House on 90

The fundraising idea was simple but highly effective. Each time a player called full house on number 90, Deluxe Bingo Hastings donated £100 directly to St Michael’s Hospice.

Over the course of the year, those donations have added up to an impressive £10,000, which is an excellent result for the venue and its players. It also gave players an extra reason to cheer when a full house landed on the final number.

The total is particularly impressive given that the club only reopened last year after more than two years of closure. Since then, it has welcomed regular players back, celebrated several notable wins, and now marked its first year back with a five-figure charity donation.

Supporting St Michael’s Hospice

St Michael’s Hospice provides care and support for people in Hastings and Rother who are affected by life-limiting illness, dying, death and bereavement. The charity is highly dependent on fundraising, so donations from local businesses and community venues are extremely important.

Rebecca Futrall, fundraising manager of St Michael’s Hospice, said:

“St Michael’s Hospice is incredibly grateful and proud to have been chosen as Charity of the Year for the Deluxe Bingo, and are so thrilled that they have hit their fundraising target of £10,000 just as they approach their first anniversary.”

A Successful First Year Since Reopening

The donation comes at the end of a successful first year back for Deluxe Bingo Hastings.

The venue marked its first anniversary on 21 June, one year after reopening following a closure of more than two years. The celebrations included gift bags for customers, cash and prize raffles, and afternoon and evening bingo sessions.

General manager Ileana Danescu said:

“We’ve had an incredible year since reopening, and the response from customers has been overwhelming. The venue has always been special to Hastings, and it’s lovely to see it busy again with regular customers returning.”

Chief operating officer Stephen Lawrence added:

“When we reopened last June, there was such a sense of excitement from the community – people had been waiting for this venue to come back for years. It’s been wonderful to watch the team’s incredible work and what we’ve achieved together over this first year.”

More to Come at Deluxe Bingo Hastings

Following the cheque presentation, Jeremy Godden revealed that there are some “exciting plans in the pipeline for the Deluxe” and promised that “there’s plenty more to look forward to”.

Based on the successful fundraising campaign run over the past year and the impressive total raised by Deluxe Bingo Hastings, it seems likely that players and the wider local community have a great deal to look forward to.
