Now, thanks to the Empress Building & Ballroom in Mexborough, Doncaster, bingo fans can also treat themselves to a night of luxury while enjoying their favourite game. Taking place on June 1, 2024, the Incredible Escapes Party Bingo promises to transform the game of bingo into an “extraordinary spectacle” full of unforgettable experiences and prizes
The idea for the night came after Jemma Evans, the General Manager of the Empress Building, was disappointed by a local party bingo company. She explained:
“We wanted to elevate the experience, to turn a simple game of bingo into a gateway to luxury and adventure. It’s not just about the prizes but creating a night that will be remembered and talked about for years to come.”
Despite the fact that Evans says it is not just about the prizes, the event does promise to give players a chance to win “an experience” such as a “dream weekend trip, a romantic getaway, or a luxurious spa retreat.“
The event will be run by a charismatic host and once the bingo is over, it is time to dance the rest of the evening away to hits from the 1980s and 1990s, promising to sweep attendees up “in a whirlwind of fun, laughter, and the anticipation of the extraordinary“.
Ticket holders can arrive from 18:30 for a drinks reception before being seated at their tables for the main bingo event. The Empress Kitchen will also be open for bar snacks, pizza, and pie & peas supper. Following the bingo, the dancing will run right through until 1 am.
Tickets are on sale and a regular ticket is £24.99, while the Early Bird Special is £22.99. The Early Bird prices are available until three weeks before the event or until 50% of tickets are sold. The ticket includes a book of bingo cards, a bingo dabber, and glow sticks, an essential accessory for any of luxury bingo night.
While the setting and prizes may be luxurious, the bingo remains firmly in the tradition of the game, in other words, sociable, silly, and enjoyable. To achieve this, the games will be run by BONKERZZ BINGO and hosted by Dame Ida Cabart.
Dame Ida is renowned for her cabaret show, which she has performed to create acclaim in the UK, Spain, Greece and France. She will be making full use of the venue’s cutting-edge sound and lighting systems while performing her unique show of entertaining parodies, complete with audience interaction. Having performed in numerous five-star hotels, grand theatres, and at top festivals, she will be completely at home in the surroundings of the Empress Building.
Part of the fun will be her performance of timeless classics and modern hits in a style that pays homage to iconic divas. Attendees will be astounded by the act, which has been known to include as many as 25 costume changes.
