The Mecca Bingo winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, was playing the National Bingo Game on Friday 2 October while enjoying an evening at the East Prescot Road club with his girlfriend and her family. He completed a full house within the first 16 numbers called to secure the £50,000 prize.
The winner realised almost immediately that he had landed one of the National Bingo Game’s biggest prizes.
Connor Bushell from Mecca Bingo was working during the session and said:
“The customer realised that he’d hit the jackpot straight away and put his arms out to celebrate. When the win was announced, everyone was buzzing for him! It was a really busy evening, and everybody was so happy and talking about how amazing the win was.
“When it came to filling out the paperwork, the winner was so excited, he was talking about houses and how this win gives him the opportunity to get onto the property ladder.”
With house prices making it increasingly difficult for many younger people to buy their first property, £50,000 should certainly provide a useful start if that is what he decides to do with the money. For now, though, it appears that the winner is still enjoying the excitement of an unexpected five-figure jackpot during what started out as a normal family night at the bingo.
The latest jackpot adds to what has already been an impressive run of prizes for Mecca Bingo players in Liverpool.
According to Mecca, Liverpool was its second luckiest city in 2025, with the operator’s Merseyside clubs paying out more than £5.2 million in combined jackpot winnings during the year.
Connor has spent his entire working career at Mecca and said that a £50,000 National Bingo Game win is still something special.

The amount you win depends on how quickly you manage to complete a full house. A full house in 24 numbers or fewer wins £100, while finishing within 20 numbers increases the prize to £1,000. There is also a top jackpot of £250,000 for the extremely rare feat of completing a full house within the first 14 numbers called.
