Listen to this article:A Greater Manchester holidaymaker is celebrating after winning an incredible £250,000 National Bingo Game jackpot during a trip to Bridlington.
Stephen Clarke, 67, was staying at Hawthorne Holiday Park with his wife Dawn when the couple decided to visit Regal Bingo Bridlington on Monday 24 August. Stephen has been playing bingo for more than 20 years and regularly visits the club when holidaying in the area.
The timing could hardly have been better, as Stephen and Dawn are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year. They are now planning to use some of the money for a cruise and to treat their family.
Since the new National Bingo Game jackpot was launched on Thursday, 12 February, the prize has become part of scheduled sessions at participating clubs across the UK, with plenty of players already claiming it.
Stephen landed the top National Bingo Game prize after completing his ticket quickly enough to trigger the £250,000 jackpot. Unsurprisingly, it took a little while for the size of the win to sink in, and the other players at Regal Bingo were quick to celebrate with the couple.
Stephen said:
“We love coming to the club when visiting the area. I could not believe I had won the jackpot. Everyone started cheering and clapping – the crowd here are so welcoming.
“We are still in shock and haven’t decided how to spend the money, but we will be treating our family. We also plan to go on a cruise, as it is our 40th anniversary this year.”
Stephen and Dawn have two grown-up sons as well as a two-month-old granddaughter, so there are plenty of family members who may benefit from the win.
The couple are regular visitors to Bridlington and already plan to return later this year. After taking home a quarter of a million pounds from one of their visits, it is easy to understand why Regal Bingo may now feature fairly highly on the itinerary.
Remarkably, Stephen is not the first holidaymaker to enjoy a major National Bingo Game win at Regal Bingo Bridlington in recent years.
Two years ago, another regular visitor named Sharon won £50,000 at the club. Together with Stephen’s latest prize, that means holidaymakers have now collected £300,000 in National Bingo Game jackpots at the venue in the space of two years.

“The atmosphere in the club was amazing, and our regular customers were absolutely delighted for Stephen and Dawn. It was fantastic to see everyone celebrating together.”
Regal Bingo is located on the Promenade in the centre of Bridlington and attracts both local players and the many visitors who head to the East Yorkshire seaside town each year.
The National Bingo Game is played at participating bingo clubs across Great Britain and gives players the chance to win jackpot prizes in addition to the usual club full house prize. The size of the jackpot won depends on how quickly a player completes their full house. Finishing in 24 numbers or fewer wins £100, while doing so within 20 numbers increases the prize to £1,000.
A full house within 16 numbers wins £50,000, while the biggest £250,000 jackpot is awarded when a player manages the extremely rare feat of completing their ticket within the first 14 numbers called. Tickets cost £1 for two or £2.50 for five, and the National Bingo Game is played twice each day at participating clubs, except on Christmas Day.
The £250,000 jackpot was introduced as a regular top prize in February 2026, and Stephen is already the seventh player to land it. There have also been 30 £50,000 jackpot winners since the bigger prize structure was introduced, with more than £4 million awarded in total.

Stephen joins a growing list of players to win the new £250,000 jackpot during his trip to Bridlington this year. Earlier winners have included players at Club 3000 Bingo Wigan and Mecca Bingo Leicester.
