The prize was won on Sunday, 1 March, during Castle Bingo’s Castle Climber link game. The winner, Bruce, is well known as a regular player at the Newport venue on Usk Way. He was the first to call house during the game, meaning he won the jackpot and gave the entire room reason to celebrate. “I couldn’t believe I had won £100,000”, Bruce said. “I kept asking if it was real.”
Last year, Castle Bingo profits rose, with strong financial results for 2024, giving even more reason to celebrate.

The Castle Climber link game had been causing a great deal of interest among players due to the size of the £100,000 full house prize. Ben Harris, the managing director at Castle Bingo, said the build-up had been noticeable in the club.
“The excitement around the £100,000 Full House prize had been incredible”, he said. He explained that Bruce is a hugely popular figure at the club and said that the moment was an excellent example of the welcoming social atmosphere found at bingo clubs around the UK. Members of the club have described Bruce’s £100,000 win as an “unforgettable” moment and said that they were thrilled to see such a friendly person win the top prize.
To mark the event, the club then held a special celebratory evening on Sunday, March 8. The party took place at Castle Bingo Uskway. It is Castle Bingo’s largest club, and it underwent extensive refurbishment in 2023.
